About SmartFix
SmartFix is a WordPress plugin that detects plugin conflicts before they break sites. We built it because every conflict-resolution workflow we had used - disabling plugins one by one, scanning error logs, re-enabling and praying - was slow, manual, and risky on production. A scanner that understands WordPress internals and can apply reversible runtime fixes should be the default, not a consulting engagement.

Arden Talbot
Founder and engineering lead, SmartFix
Arden leads product and engineering at SmartFix. Work spans the conflict scanner (static analysis over every active plugin), the Auto-Fix Engine (10 reversible runtime strategies with a confidence-score model), and the intelligence matcher (anonymized crowd-sourced conflict database). Prior work includes several published WordPress plugins, high-volume PHP backends, and pre-submission review automation for the WordPress.org plugin queue.
Areas of focus: WordPress hooks and filter architecture, WooCommerce compatibility, static analysis over plugin source, and the ergonomics of a reversible auto-fix workflow that is safe on production.
Our approach
- Read-only by default. Scanning never touches your plugin files or database writes.
- Reversible fixes. Every auto-fix is a runtime shim that can be rolled back in one click and auto-expires when the underlying plugin updates.
- Crowd-sourced intelligence. Anonymized conflict patterns flow back into a shared database so every site benefits from the next detection.
- Free core. The core scanner and 7 low-sensitivity auto-fixes are free on WordPress.org. Paid tiers add scheduled scans, intelligence matching, elevated strategies, and BYOK.
